Happy Holidays

As December 2023 draws to a close we’d like to thank you for your support of our UC brands this year. It has been a year of growth and challenges. There have been many innovative developments across 3CX and the hardware vendors. 2024 promises to be just as exciting as we await the release of 3CX’s v20. On the hardware front the meeting room space is an area of immense growth – the AI coming into meeting room equipment is especially interesting and fast-moving.

We hope you all have a safe and relaxing festive season, and we look forward to working with you all again in 2024.

On behalf of the UC Team – Megan Twentyman, BDM Unified Communications

3CX product updates – v20 is getting closer

Over the last 2 months, we’ve shared the v20 announcements. There have been more changes this month with v20 now being at Release Candidate 2 (NB. This is not yet ready for production systems). You can link to our November UC Channel Update here and our October UC Channel Update here. These cover many of the key new features and what is coming – it’s really important to stay up to date with the announcements and we’d encourage you to keep monitoring the 3CX Blog over the holiday season. Below is a quick update of what has occurred since our November update just 3 weeks ago! V20 is not yet at a final version, so it is only recommended for test systems at this stage.

  • New Windows Softphone updates:
    • Beta 2 – new incoming call screen.
    • Beta 3 – BLF panel and desktop pop-ups.
    • Beta 4 – further BLF panel updates, voicemail transcriptions, call history, and more.
  • Mobile apps updates:

As more information is released, we’ll share it with you. If you have queries, reach out to us at uc@bluechipit.co.nz.

3CX security update – legacy SQL CRM integrations

Late last week 3CX advised a security vulnerability with legacy SLQ CRM integrations that only 0.25% of their CRM integrations use. You can view the full blog here. A further update was released yesterday NZT with the full investigation results and announcing a hotfix for this.

End of year reminders – last call for orders!

To ensure our team can rest and recharge for what promises to be a huge year in 2024, Bluechip Infotech will be closed from lunchtime on the 22nd December 2023 and re-opens on the 8th January 2024.

If you have last minute orders for processing, please get them through as early as possible for our team, remember to ensure anything that needs renewing ahead of the 8th January should be sent in December 2023 also.

FREE 4-SC Standard License extensions – 3CX have run their checker to extend licenses into March and will run it again before the end of the year. Please check out the most recent blog here.

3CX Technical Certifications – exams available

The new Technical Certification exams for 3CX are now available. The Basic and Advanced exams are accessible from your Partner Portal and/or your own personal login to the portal. For those that already hold certifications, you will need to re-certify with the new exams. It is highly encouraged that all 3CX Partners have at least one staff member fully technical certified. Free support access from 3CX will be based on the level of certifications held, while Bluechip Infotech NZ encourages the certifications we won’t withhold first level support to our 3CX partners. The 3CX training preparation pages on their website are updated and you can access these at:

We are planning training for 2024 and will advise dates of in person and online in the new year. If you don’t want to wait for our courses, you’re welcome to self-study and sit the exams. Be sure to send Megan a copy of your certificate and we’ll send you out a small gift in the new year.
