Soft Solutions changed to Bluechip Infotech New Zealand

If you haven’t seen our big news, Soft Solutions is now officially Bluechip Infotech New Zealand Limited. What does this mean for you? That’s simple – it’s business as usual and you’ll continue to receive the exceptional service we’ve always provided. There will be no change in people, products, or services on that date, just a change of name. You’ll start to see e-mails from our new domain of bluechipit.co.nz and our website and Reseller Portal will also re-direct. Anything sent to our sofsol.co.nz will get through.

After 28 years, it’s the end of an era for the Soft Solutions name – Megan is sure she’ll have an identity crisis after nearly 14 years at Soft Solutions and prior to that working with the team as a supplier for many years as well. If we trip over where we’re calling from it will make for a few laughs!

If you do have any questions around the change, do reach out to us on nable@bluechipit.co.nz and we’ll be happy to assist.

Webinar: Navigating the Evolution of Managed Services

Over the past decade, there has been dramatic changes in managed services. The increasing number of mergers and acquisitions, evolving pricing models, and the rapid rise in cyberattacks are influencing market demand – and MSPs have needed to adapt to grow with the industry. In this webinar on Thursday November 16th at 11:00am, Ryan (Fuzzy) Spillane from 360 Consulting will address these changes, by drawing from his 25 years’ experience as a former MSP and now as a consultant for many successful managed service providers in Australia and New Zealand. Cove Data Protection updates

One-time restore to Hyper-V

N-able has introduced a new capability fully managed from the Cove dashboard: the “One-time restore to Hyper-V” feature. This disaster recovery tool is designed to guard against unexpected server failures and provides you with the ability to swiftly recover your VMs from the N-able Cloud Backup (any saved backup session) to your Hyper-V appliance, NAS, or network share on an on-demand basis.

New: App Switcher

For partners using additional N-able products, Cove will offer a fast and easy way to switch between N-able apps.

Recovery Testing

With this release, we’ve introduced a new option to restore only the OS disk during an automated recovery test, rather than doing a test restore of the entire device. This allows larger devices (larger than 2 TB) to now be included in recovery testing plans, as the OS-only option will be smaller than 2 TB.

GA of Microsoft 365 Teams!

With this release, Cove backs up teams, channels, team members and settings, plus messages, files and attachments in the channels. Backups are automatically performed up to six times per day, and Teams backup data is retained for seven years in N-able private cloud data centres worldwide.

Licensing and Billing

Teams is included in the current per-end-user price for Microsoft 365 protection. This means that adding Teams backup to unique end users already backing up other elements of Microsoft 365, such as Exchange, OneDrive and/or SharePoint will not impact billing. In addition, only Teams owners are considered billable. Billing will only change if a net-new Teams owner is added that was not previously backing up any other part of Microsoft 365 with Cove. Billable usage for Teams begins December 1, 2023. Learn more about the general availability of Cove Data Protection for Microsoft 365 Teams here.

Mail Assure – new customer management

We are happy to announce that the beta version of the Customer Management settings pages is now available to all partners. Additionally, the default Private Portal Policies management has been updated. Learn about the latest Mail Assure features and updates here.

October 2023 Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga event recap

We were thrilled to have such a fantastic turnout from our valued partners in Auckland, Hamilton, and Tauranga. For those who couldn’t make it, we sincerely apologize for missing you. Rainesh took our N-able partners through the new features and few gotchas with the portal. Check out a few snapshots from the events below, where we had hardware on display for everyone to explore. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners for their participation and to our vendor sponsors for their support. Stay tuned for more multi-vendor events across New Zealand in 2024.

VR Event

Thank you to all the partners who joined us in Auckland at our VR event! We were particularly delighted by the enthusiastic response to our DNS Filtering Unleashed session, where we showcased the latest advancements in cybersecurity and N-able’s comprehensive ecosystem of products. Our experts provided in-depth insights into how DNS Filtering can safeguard organizations from online threats and empower them with granular control over internet access. The VR Voom Adventure was also a huge hit, and of course, thanks to our generous sponsors for making the giveaways possible. Everyone loved winning cool prizes!
