Bluebeam has unveiled a new version of Revu designed for the desktop and cloud (web and mobile) with a modern subscription licensing model. Licenses are now sold as an Annual Subscription license and must be renewed ahead of expiry to keep accessing these time-saving tools. Support and updates are included with all licenses.
There are three new editions for customers to choose from which differ from the previous Perpetual license editions:
Basics – contains essential tools for marking up and managing office and project documents. Designed for those wishing to have an oversight of projects.
Core – this is the most popular license and contains a comprehensive range of tools for managing and collaborating on small and mid-size AECO projects.
Complete – this is the most advanced edition for more complex projects and features advanced measurement tools and functions.
All editions include Bluebeam University which is an online self-paced training tool designed to ensure each user gets the most out of their solution. Bluebeam has done a great job for many years on providing online training tools to equip their customers to really gain the time-savings that the solution is designed to deliver.
Transition for existing customers
For existing customers who have Perpetual licenses with current maintenance there is a transition path over the next 12 months. There are options to convert licenses now or to increase the existing perpetual licenses with maintenance and then transition later in the coming year. Perpetual customers without maintenance that require additional licenses will need to start purchasing the new Annual Subscription options when they need to equip a new user – there is no upgrade path for those without maintenance. While there is no direct comparison between the new editions and the previous a generic comparison would be:
- Standard or CAD previously = Core
- eXtreme previously = Complete
